Discussion

The slot was located on the eastern edge of the dry valley, and contained a single fill (012AD00464), which was a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3), with 10% chalk inclusions. No daub or charcoal flecking was found. Quite a number of small fragments of animal bone (not identified) were also recovered.

The slot was cut into chalk, with a U-shaped profile. It was heavily plough-truncated.
